UN-PLANNING Apartheid

Picture

The development action group, Erin Torkelson, and anzabeth tonkin

DEMONSTRATED HOW CITIES CAN UNDO APARTHEID SPATIAL PLANNING WITH MEDIUM-DENSITY INFILL HOUSING
The following publications were produced for the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) to advocate for the provision of medium-density housing on inner-city infill land for poor people. In so doing, these publications advocated for concrete strategies to un-plan the racial and spatial segregation violently enforced by the apartheid state and sustained in the present day.
